PA GOP Chairman Statement On April Unemployment Report

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding the April Unemployment Report:

“If nothing else, today’s unemployment numbers remind us of the hard truth that President Obama has failed to live up the promises he made, and he has no one to blame but himself. As a result, millions of Pennsylvania families are struggling. Those that have jobs see their paychecks shrinking as the cost of gas, groceries, and healthcare skyrockets. President Obama’s will try to spin today’s anemic jobs report with his desperate hype-and-blame campaign, but the facts are plain and simple: too many Pennsylvanians have been unemployed for far too long,” said Chairman Gleason.

“Governor Corbett’s pro-growth and pro-jobs policies have helped Pennsylvanians keep their footing in President Obama’s shaky economy, but he needs a partner in the White House to implement the fiscally responsible policies taxpayers deserve.”

“The advocate that taxpayers truly deserve in Washington is Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney is in Pittsburgh today talking about his vision for America. Governor Romney wants an America that is not overburdened with massive debts and strapped with high unemployment, but an America that empowers its citizens to succeed. It’s critical that we move beyond the President’s upcoming ‘hype and blame’ campaign to ensure that America gets back on the right track.”
