Republicans have been slamming Dems relentlessly over Hilary Rosen’s remarks about Ann Romney, and now they are out with a stay-at-home-mothers fundraising campaign urging supporters to help defeat “elitists liberals [sic] like Barack Obama.”
The GOP is selling travel coffee mugs for $15 each, apparently emblazoned with “MOMS DO WORK! VOTE GOP.”
The purchase page comes with a pledge for buyers: “I believe that Moms do work and can’t stand liberals who think that Moms don’t. [I am buying a mug] To show my support for the hard work done by Moms everywhere and to help defeat elitists liberals like Barack Obama…”
The White House and Democrats have sought to distance themselves from Rosen and her remarks on CNN on Wednesday that Romney never “worked a day in her life.” Rosen apologized for her remarks on Thursday, saying her words were “poorly chosen.”
But don’t expect the GOP to give up its foothold any time soon in the battle over women voters.
