Bad Policies Equal Bad Poll Numbers

HARRISBURG — Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement regarding Public Policy Polling’s latest poll, “Obama, Romney tied in Pennsylvania” which was released earlier today:

“Do we have to say ‘we told you so?’ Pennsylvanians continue to be fed up with President Obama’s absolute failure to lead our country in the right direction, and up to this point, no amount of flowery campaign rhetoric has been able to camouflage his administration’s failures. Pennsylvanians have taken clear notice and aren’t unwilling to entrust President Obama with four more years and instead, are looking to Republican alternatives to save our country from this President’s disastrous policies,” Chairman Rob Gleason said.

Released earlier today, Public Policy Polling, a left-leaning firm, found that President Obama has a 42% approval rating and 53% disapproval rating in Pennsylvania, “a nine-point decline from the 46-48 PPP measured less than five months ago.” Additionally, Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling stated in the poll that, “Pennsylvania is Barack Obama’s most worrisome state for 2012…He’s slipped there more than in any other large state and the electoral college picture changes fundamentally if it goes into the GOP column.” (“Obama, Romney tied in Pennsylvania.” Public Policy Polling. November 22, 2011.)

Chairman Gleason continued: “Pennsylvania’s diverse electorate is a fitting microcosm of America. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, we’ve already proven that Republicans can win in all corners of our Commonwealth, and now, poll after poll proves that Republicans can win in 2012, too. One thing is clear: when President Obama loses in our Keystone State, he will also lose the White House.”
