Patricia Poprik, Treasurer
Pat Poprik has been an elected State Committeewoman from Bucks County for 23 years. She was elected to the Office of Treasurer of the State Party in 1992 and served as Chairman of the Commonwealth Club. In 1994, she was appointed to also serve as the first woman Finance Chairman of State Committee, a position she held until 1997. She has helped many candidates and party organizations raise money. Mrs. Poprik has spent many hours volunteering for and working with national, state and local candidates seeking public office. She has served as a Delegate-at-Large at the 2004 Republican National Convention; an Alternate Delegate-at-Large in 1984, 1996, 2000 and an Honorary Delegate in 1988.
Mrs. Poprik is actively involved in her community. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Pennsylvania State University having been appointed by Governor Schweiker in 2002. She is on the Executive Council of Bucks County Council of Boy Scouts of America and was also on the Board of Governors of Warminster Hospital.
She has also been an elected Director of the Council Rock School District and served on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, having been appointed by Governor Ridge. Her many other community activities have always focused on helping others, especially the needy and women.
One such community service would be her work for the Anne Anstine Excellence in Public Service Series, where she serves on the Advisory Board and as a Lecturer. This group’s mission is to increase the number and influence of women in government and business, through training to help them assume decision-making positions.
Mrs. Poprik has been honored as Bucks County Woman of the Year by the Boy Scouts of America in 2000, and in its inaugural year of 1996, she received Pennsylvania’s Best 50 Women in Business Award and has received the President’s Award from the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania in 1992.
Professionally, in 1988 she founded First American Municipals, Inc. a woman-owned investment banking firm specializing in municipal bond underwriting and financial advisory services. At that time, First American Municipals was only the third woman-owned investment banking firm in the nation. In addition, Mrs. Poprik is also President of First American Asset Management, a company that specializes in pension fund investments and stock executions.
Mrs. Poprik was born and raised in Philadelphia where she graduated from St. Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She and her husband, John, reside in Doylestown and have two grown sons.
